
The European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship announced a new
Competition for Case Studies in Entrepreneurship in 2004. The competition was open
exclusively to members of ECSB and ICSB, and was sponsored by the Research Strategy Unit (Faculty of Business) at the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). The case had to be about a European firm and within a European context.
Two different workshops on case studies were organised in connection with the RENT XVII Conference in Copenhagen, November 25-26, 2004. The finalists also presented their cases in the other workshop.
The winners were announced at final plenary session of the RENT Conference. The prize-winners of the competition were:
- 1st prize: €2,500: First Catering, Thierry Volery and Ev Mullner (Swiss Research Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship)
- 2nd prize: €1,500: Iviewcameras, David Molian (Cranfield School of Management, UK)
- 3rd prize: €500: Simultech, Helle Neegaard (Aarhus School of Business, Denmark)
