Call for Papers

SLNIW invites submissions of abstracts to our International Conference on Networks, Learning and Entrepreneurship from individuals, organisations/institutions in academia, researchers/postgraduate students, practitioners/entrepreneurs, business strategists and enterprise agencies / local government.

SLNIW is an exciting and innovative INTERREG 4A funded project being undertaken by the School of Management and Business, Aberystwyth University, Wales in partnership with CEDRE (Centre for Enterprise Development and Regional Economy), Waterford Institute of Technology. This unique project aims to create and develop learning business networks in West Wales and South East Ireland, with the primary goal of increasing the competitiveness, creativity and innovation capacities and capabilities of SMEs and micro-enterprises in these regions.

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts for papers and posters in the research areas of interest to the conference. These include:

• Social capital and networks in entrepreneurship / small business
• Gender perspectives on networks in small firms
• Learning styles in networks
• Entrepreneurial learning and social capital
• Knowledge transfer through networking
• International entrepreneurship and networks
• Learning through networks
• Social networking in small business
• Motivation for joining business networks
• Social entrepreneurship
• Innovation and creativity in networks
• Developing international business through networking
• Business growth as a result of networking
• Sustainability in networking
• Other related topics are also welcome

Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and should be submitted by e-mail to Anne Howells nshaber.ac.uk (clearly stating if the abstract is for a paper, or poster presentation).

Deadline for abstracts: 28 May 2010
Deadline for completed papers: 27 August 2010

Selected papers will be published as a special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, May 2011, or in the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship.

Prize - Award to be presented to the author(s) of the best poster presentation
