ECSB wiki announcement

ECSB and ICSB announces the activation of a new wiki dedicated to entrepreneurship and small business scholars and practioners. This is a first step to exploit the potential of internet enabled collaboration to foster interaction among ECSB members and build the world richest on-line community on entrepreneurship and small business studies.

The wiki is accessible to the following web site http://www.icsb.org/wiki

It takes a few minutes to join, just go to the "request an account" page http://www.icsb.org/wiki/index.php?title=Special:RequestAccount and fill a short form. You will quickly receive an email confirmation. Once you are registered you can edit any page on the wiki or creating new ones. Currently the following sections are open:

• Entrepreneurshipedia: an open encyclopedia about entrepreneurship and small managements created by users
• Workspaces: to create collaborative activities like writing a paper or a research proposal
• External links: a list of useful and relevant links to journals, research centers, academic and professional associations in the field updated by users
• Current events: a list of upcoming events organized and promoted by the community

A wiki appears like a web site, but the difference is that it is made entirely by its users. Anyone can edit and re-edit almost anything in a peer-to-peer, unsupervised, open-source fashion. So you can add or improve definitions in the encyclopedia, start new collaborative activities, add links, promote events and also create new pages. Also upon registration you will have a personal page you can use as your personal blog.

The wiki is empty now. It will be contents rich and useful only to the extent members will use it in an active way. The wiki is easy to use also for people who are not confident with this kind of tool. We are also looking for a group of volunteer who are willing to be community moderators. Moderators will have more rights than registered users, like the possibility to cancel a page.
