| EUROPEAN DOCTORAL PROGRAMME |
| |
The three main objectives of the European Doctoral Programme (EDP) are (1) to offer graduate students the opportunity to study in some detail three interrelated subjects, namely:- Entrepreneurship and enterprise formation
- Small business management and development
- SME in economic and regional development
(2) to promote and coach the participants individual thesis work, (3) to strengthen the development of common research themes throughout the world in the general field of entrepreneurship and small business development.
The programme has been initiated by the ECSB based on a concept developed by a committee of the Council, chaired by Professor Dr. Josep M. Veciana of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The ECSB has established a network of fifteen European universities and business schools that support and contribute to the Programme. The Programme is founded under ERASMUS/SOCRATES, which means that (1) it benefits from the normal grants for the reciprocal exchange of students and teachers; (2) adopts a common curriculum designed to fill a gap in the study of entrepreneurship in Europe. The program makes also part of the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA), a forum for cooperation among between Doctoral programmes of leading European Business Schools. |
