ICSB World Conferences
The Annual World Conference is held in June of each year, and hosted jointly with one of the ICSB affiliates. Past conferences have been held in cities such as Vienna, Washington, D.C., Strasbourg, Toronto, Sydney, Stockholm, San Francisco, Singapore, Naples and Johannesburg. The conference draws 400 to 800 delegates from 40 to 50 countries. ECSB hosted the ICSB World Conference in 2003 in Belfast. The 2005 ICSB World Conference was organised in Washington D.C, USA, the 2006 ICSB World Conference was organised in Melbourne, Australia and the 2007 ICSB World Coference was held in Turku, Finland and organised by ECSB.

Around 400 papers were presented at the conference under several topics, such as enterprise education, franchising, incubators and science parks, management in SMEs and entrepreneurship policy. There were nearly 700 participants, of which around 400 from European countries.

The 53rd ICSB World Conference
The 2008 International Council for Small Business (ICSB) World Conference will be hosted by Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship, Dalhousie University, Faculty of Management, Saint Mary's University Business Development Centre, in collaboration with ICSB Host Affiliate, Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
The conference will be held in June 22-25, 2008. The theme of the conference is "Advancing Small Business and Entrepreneurship: From Research to Results". A key aim of the conference is to bridge the gap between research and action.
