It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website and to the work of ECSB. Through your interaction with us, I am confident that you will quickly recognise the wonderful history of the organisation and the great legacy that has been passed on to us by some of the greatest minds in the field of entrepreneurship education and research.
My two year term as President began on July 1st 2009 and one of my primary goals during my term of office is to increase the benefits that you receive as a member of ECSB. While continuously maintaining the high-quality standards that the RENT Conference has secured is of paramount importance to the Board, we will also be looking to host smaller, more localised events across Europe over the forthcoming years. Additionally, we will be compiling content for the website that is both timely and appropriate to the career needs of our members and we will be keeping you informed of updated news and events through our quarterly newsletters. Indeed you will find us continuously working in a variety of ways searching out and providing you with additional resources to make your work easier and better.
Because ECSB is a voluntary organisation, we are very much dependent upon the efforts of our Board, our Country Vice-Presidents and our members to make things happen. You will note from other areas of the website that each Board Member has a specific area of responsibility, while each country has a Vice-President who is tasked with leading the work of ECSB locally. But we also need you to help us, either by suggesting ideas or proposals that would improve the operations of ECSB or by getting actively involved and organising an event which has ECSB branding. Please feel free to contact me directly if you believe that I or ECSB can assist you in any such initiatives.
Given that the world is experiencing challenging economic times, it is my belief that entrepreneurship educators and researchers must stand up and be counted amongst those who are willing to lead us into better days. In many different ways, entrepreneurship educators and researchers are well-placed to support the renewal of economies across Europe and through our experience and expertise we can help rebuild and reshape tomorrow’s exciting new world. I would ask you to proactively join us in our work so that all of us can benefit.
Best Wishes,

Thomas Cooney
President of ECSB
